From The Pastor

It’s November 26, 2021, and I am experimenting with the use of this page for weekly messages from pastor Nathan

Happy Thanksgiving weekend New Church of Boston Members and Friends,

I’m grateful to be getting to know you and to be worshiping together this year! As the disciple, Peter, once said, “Lord, it is good for us to be here!” So far, we’ve had eight church services since August, six of which have been hybrid – in person and online via Zoom.

I’m also grateful for the help and support of our online efforts. The folks at B’nai Torah have been very generous in sharing their technology. Don Blair has been an outstanding technology collaborator, taking lots of time on several Saturdays to help set up and test equipment and hone our system. And Tom David has been an integral part of the team each Sunday, helping and learning along with us. We are committed to continuing our hybrid option in order to serve as many people as possible. Thank you for your patience and support as we figure out what will work best for our circumstances.

I look forward to our two Christmas-oriented services coming up on December 5 and 19.

Also, on Sunday December 5 I’ll be available in the afternoon to meet in person since my return flight doesn’t depart until about 8 pm. I welcome the opportunity to meet with people in person. My contact info is below. Please let me know.

In-person at B’nai Torah:

-Masking is mandatory inside the Synagogue.

-Socializing, with coffee and individually packaged snacks, will be outside (weather permitting).

-Children are welcome and there will be a children’s talk, followed by kids socializing.

We would love to see you in person when you are ready!

Upcoming Schedule:

Sunday worship in person AND online: December 5 and 19 at 10:30 am.

Feel free to join the meeting at 10:20 to check in and get settled. There will be a prelude a few minutes before 10:30.

Next online reading groups, studying Divine Providence: Thursdays, December 9 and 16 @ 8 pm (we’re moving the second meeting in December one week earlier because of Christmas). Contact me for Zoom link for the reading group.

I hope to see you, whether online or in-person, as we continue to gather, worship, and work on our spiritual growth!
